Back to basics is back in style. Introducing contemporary, elegant wood burning fireplaces that are both highly efficient and eco-friendly.

Stuv originated in Belgium as the brainchild of Benoit Lafontaine and Gerard Pitance. They joined together to form Concept & Forme, and continue to use their passion for beauty to produce more innovative Stuv fireplace products.

Is using wood for heating environmentally friendly?

Yes, because it is a plentiful renewable resource; thanks to sustainable development, forestry areas are being extended all over Europe. Firewood is, after all, only a by-product; it is produced by chopping up branches that are of no value to sawmills, and young trees that have had to be cut down to thin out the forest and allow more useful plants to grow.

The carbon dioxide emissions from burning wood are equivalent to those created in the natural decomposition of the wood (dendroenergy does not contribute to the production of greenhouse gases).

However, it is quite clear that even if you continue to use your outdated wood burning fireplace with the intention of being eco-friendly, your good intentions will fall short. Inefficient products are not eco-friendly, but this is where Stuv's redeeming qualities shine so bright. Stuv fireplaces are high quality with high efficiency and low discharges into the air. Stuv 21/105 Single Face
The Stuv 21/105 is innovation at its height. Through the combination of a cutting-edge design and cutting-edge technology, Stuv has created a fireplace that pays homage to a most essential element- the fire itself.

Its Features Include:

• 78% efficiency
• Beautiful tempered guillotine glass door that can be raised partially (the insert is designed to function efficiently while the glass door is both closed and partially open)
• Glass door tilts forward for easy cleaning
• Thin metallic surround (just 4cm wide) that allows for the widest possible viewing area, but still conceals all of the fireplace's inner-working devices while the glass door is still open
  
  
• Superior technology that makes use of a simple law of physics: natural combustion
• air circulates in a double wall around the hearth, heats up and escapes through purpose-built vents, then some of the hot air can be routed into an adjacent room. This means that there is no fan, no noise, no risk of a breakdown and no electrical connection

Its Finishes Include:

• The Stuv 21/105 SF can be inserted into any existing fireplace, however masonry and decoration can be dispensed if you opt for the Claddings available from Stuv (see Claddings PDF)

Stuv : 30 Insert

Stuv 30 Insert
In the daytime: glass door fire. The Stuv 30 IN, with its larged curved glass door, provides a unique view of the flames. It has been tested according to European standards and achieved outstanding results (87% efficient). This guarantees that the Stuv 30 IN is the economical and eco-friendly option.

In the evening: open fire. In a snatch, the glass door disappears out of sight to transform the insert into an open fire. You can then fit a specially designed grill for easy and healthy cooking.

Overnight: slow burner. The solid door (with a small glazed peephole) closes the opening of the hearth. Its increased airtightness allows very slow burning through the night. The glass door moves to the rear of the hearth away from the soot-loaded fumes and remains clear!

Dimensions: 275 lbs. (125 kg.)
